You are the person we are looking for if you want to support entrepreneurs to create sustainable and profitable businesses from creative skills. You have the opportunity to support entrepreneurs to find new customers, expand into new markets or brand and market more effectively.
We are looking for creative professionals to work as remote mentors for Kenyan women entrepreneurs involved in the Women’s Bank project. The volunteers will support and develop the skills of local women entrepreneurs and teams. The people we are looking for are good mentors, sparring partners and trainers who are willing to use and share their knowledge and skills.
We are looking for mentors to support entrepreneurs in the following sectors:
- Media and content – video production, photography, animation or content production
- Fashion and textiles – garment design, print and textile production, clothing manufacturing or sales and marketing
- Crafts and artisan products – product manufacturing (such as ceramics, woodworks, textiles), sales or marketing
- Event planning and production – event planning and delivery or experiential marketing
The volunteering period will be entirely remote, and tasks can be done alongside other full-time work. Mentoring will take place once a month for four months, for a total of 4 mentoring sessions. Mentoring sessions are during office hours but you’ll have the opportunity to schedule them.
Mentoring also includes preparation for the mentoring sessions and assignments in between the sessions. Mentoring sessions start in either May or August 2025. There is a possibility to participate in both periods, subject to agreement.
Distance Mentors in Kenya
What? We are looking for ten (10) remote mentors to support creative professionals in Kenya. The mentors will provide mentoring and guidance to creative entrepreneurs and help them strengthen their personal and professional development, entrepreneurial skills and strategic thinking.
Where? Remote support for a project in Kenya.
When? Four months, two group options: starting in May or August 2025
Practicalities
Prior to the period, the volunteer will receive an orientation and briefing on the assignment.
The task also includes participation in separately agreed Women’s Bank events and communication in Finland.
There is no remuneration for the assignment.
Schedule
The closing date for applications is 6th April 2025 (at 23.59, UTC +2).
Interviews will take place mainly between 8th and 15th April 2025 and the selection will be made by 17th April 2025.
Training for the group starting in May will take place remotely on 8th May 2025 at. 13.00-17.30.
